Friday thanks

When I think about this week, it seems like an endless cycle of nose wipes, sneezes, saline sprays, coughs, essential oils, and refilling the humidifier for the thousandth time. In other words, my baby has a whopper of a cold, and that kind of takes over your life when you're trying to help her not be sick.

But there was some prettiness under that pile of gunk, too! And I'm becoming more and more thankful for this weekly reminder to look for the good.

Yellow roses - because I feel sorry for the bouquets that don't get purchased on Valentine's Day. When they're 75% off the next day, I have no choice but to rescue them and take them home.

Speaking of feeling emotional about inanimate objects, I have an overwhelming debt of gratitude to this tiger. It'll be because of him that Mollie learns to walk...if she ever does. For now, as soon as she's up in the morning she speed-crawls over to him and then spends the rest of the day using him as a walker as she does laps around the house. (Also because of him, she does the most ferocious growl when asked what a tiger says.)

This headband, which not only fits Mollie's enormous noggin, but also partly camouflages the fact that she still has a serious receding hairline. For the 30 seconds that she'll leave it on, that is.

And the snow! Thank goodness for that snow. It does my Michigan heart good.

And my Magnificat app - already making this Lent more thoughtful and purposeful.

Hope you all had a week with bits of beauty in it!

  1. I'm not sure if it's the headband or those jeans... but Mollie looks so grown up and hip in that picture!

    1. She looks like a toddler to me, too! I'm crediting/blaming the headband :)
