let there be lights!

I think I've been doing a pretty good job so far about keeping the wedding planning/thinking/gabbing in check. My life still seems quite even-keeled, and I don't feel like I'm short-changing my job or other relationships. That said, tonight I went out to dinner with Jenna (who also just got engaged) and we talked for hours about the whole wedding-planning extravaganza - the good, the bad, and the ugly...and the pretty! It was so nice to be able to chat with someone who didn't think I was going crazy, or who was at least going crazy in the same way [seriously WHY do we have to decide on invitations now?!].

Anyway...Biggs at least will be glad to hear that I'm inching away from the tent idea. My practicality has taken the upper hand again and I'm already breathing easier imagining moving this party indoors...oh and the fact that not one, but TWO of my close friends immediately thought of the horrifying scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was also sort of hard to overcome...ok maybe impossible to overcome.

Of course, that means that I want to make the indoors feel as open-air and fresh as possible...and one of the most fun ways to do that is with lighting. [And flowers. Oh, I'm going to have whole posts on flowers. Run away while you still can!] Besides twinkly lights (obviously), and their close cousin, cafe lights, I'm loving these paper lanterns in natural shades from Luna Bazaar:

Aren't they fantastic? Total works of art. Now if only I had the time to figure out how to make them myself...
