mirror mirror

So I have basically three rules when it comes to whatever "style" I may have. It must be 1) comfortable, 2) flattering, or 3) awesome (usually in my eyes only). For each piece, at least two of these three rules must apply. And honestly, comfort is never really sacrificed. I'm cranky if I'm not comfy. So then the only divergence is whether the thing objectively looks good [i.e. strangers don't cringe when they see me], or whether I like it enough to accept it blindly [there is at least some raising of eyebrows, if not cringing]. This, my friends, is why I am not in any way fashion-forward. I am usually fashion-retrospective, and sometimes current, but never forward. It's just so easy to be pulled together...and kind of boring.

All this is a precursor to my paying homage to my new favorite wardrobe staple:

Yup. It's a grey wrap sweater dress from the Loft. That's it. [Modeled by some teenager who seems to be trying to intimidate/seduce any potential buyers]. But I love it, and have worn it with tights, black heels, sparkly jewelry, and red lipstick for a work Christmas party; with a scarf, patterned tights, and riding boots for the weekend, and tons of other combinations. I'm thinking about packing a pair of jeans, my sparkly sweatshirt also from the Loft [see rule #3], and this dress home for Christmas and just taking anything else I need from the girls' closets. But seriously, I'll probably just borrow jeans too.
