I've had a lot of little stories in the last few days, and no time to write them. And now that I have time, I can't focus on anything for longer than 5 minutes. [This probably has something to do with the fact that I've had to focus on one project at work for a long time, and it's finally done. Ditto for finally finishing Brothers Karamazov.]
My mind's kind of like this right now. But since I don't have an entire radio show at my disposal, I'll just wander and ramble a bit.
I spent Thursday night babysitting an 8 year old girl (spitfire), and an 11 year old boy (lamb). I gave piggy-back rides for hours, watched Narnia, and paraded around with their two hamsters perched on my head. It was glorious.
Friday night was a double date night...we made a great dinner and watched Elf, and all fell asleep at midnight. We're so cool.
I got a beautiful boxwood wreath at the farmer's market Saturday morning...it's becoming clear that I am inevitably going to decorate for holidays the exact same way as my mom. Thank goodness she has fantastic taste.
We went to ikea quickly on the way to a Christmas dinner party last night...it was SO fun not to have to buy a couch or a dresser or a bathtub or something. Instead, I got a cute little plant for no reason except that he was so very frond-sy. I can appreciate good fronds.
[Ok, I'm going to go read short stories, since that's clearly all I can handle right now. Hopefully I'll get my act together by work tomorrow, and you won't have to suffer this again.]
