recharge

It's almost absurd how much a long weekend in the sun with family can do for a person. We weren't in Florida long, and our weather forecast was sort of spotty, but it was still just about perfect. We kept things intentionally simple - instead of bothering with a rental car to fit everyone, we just agreed to not go anywhere that wasn't walkable from our condo. Fortunately, my Oma lives half a mile from the ocean...with a bunch of good restaurants, Starbucks, a mall, a grocery store, and a nail salon in between. So no hardship there. And I'm sure that the natives laughed at the herd of Northerners racing out to the pool whenever the sun broke through the clouds, but the result was that everyone got tans (not burns) for maybe the first time ever. Best of all, Mollie got the undivided attention of five adults at all times, which is her idea of heaven.

And now, an onslaught of photos (because I'm having a hard time letting go):

She's too much. And she knows it.

Tying orchids to palm trees only makes them more fun.

This girl loves her Oma!

Four generations

Walking Seminole to gawk at the monstrosities of mansions is a surprisingly fun way to start the day.

These two! Matching! Can't handle it.

I kept thinking of how tiny Mollie was the last time she was at this beach!

I can't even explain how much Mollie loves her Nana - but at this point in her life it's more than she loves me or Will. It's adorable to see them together, and so sad to see them say goodbye.

See you next year, Ft. Lauderdale!
