Some of you have asked about the felt garland I made for Mollie's birthday (that now hangs above her crib). It's so easy to make!
Wait a second. I thought it would be so easy to make. And while the actual mechanics are super simple (dip, roll, rinse, repeat), I should admit that I was surprised how long the project took as a whole. Full disclosure here, people. But I set out my work station on the kitchen island, put my headphones in and binge-watched some BBC shows during a few days' worth of Mollie's naps, and it was a totally enjoyable craft. Just be prepared to give it some time!
I bought this wool, read this tutorial, watched this one, and then basically felt like a pro (because it really is very, very simple).
Now the only problem is that multiple garlands in one small apartment seems like it might be overkill - but wouldn't it be fun to do one in gradient of the same color? Or a bold black and white combo? I wonder if Will would notice if they just started popping up over our doors or in our closets...
So lovely! So funny, because I was just researching DIY felt balls yesterday, and it's intriguing! How long would you say it would take to make 20? I'm trying to figure out if I actually have time for this. :-)
ReplyDeleteWith no distractions (and maybe a practice one or two), I'd guess two hours? Ish? Unfortunately you can't speed it up much more than that since you have to make sure they're completely dry - but it is a nice, relaxing project! :)
