But there's a silver lining, of course! Not only did I get to see my dad's childhood friend, who happens to be my eye doctor (and the nicest one in the world), but he told me that I did indeed need a new prescription for my contacts, and this would probably be a good time to get a new pair of glasses too. Score!
All of this merited a [virtual] trip to Warby Parker. Not only are they another company that does the buy a pair/give a pair scheme, but they have tons of fantastic frames for sunglasses or prescriptions. And let's circle back to the whole donating glasses thing, because how wonderful is this woman in Guatemala? Makes me happy:
So here are my options right now. I know they're pretty similar. But I know what I like, and that is squarish frames, and dark tortoise shell. So it's all about the details, people...can you help me out?
Disclaimer: I don't think in my heart of hearts that I can pull off the Huxley [they look a lot more substantial and geeky in other pictures], but they're fun to look at. But am I going to get tired of this whole nerd-chic thing soon?
I love the Japhy, but am I possibly just being blinded by the awesomeness of the name?
It's very possible in fact. Japhy Japhy Japhy.

I like the bottom ones. My new glasses are tortuous shell too!!
ReplyDeleteI think you can totally pull off either. Plus, if you get the Japhy, you never have to ask Will, "have you seen my glasses?" You can always just ask, "Where is my Japhy?" Score.
