magic Starbucks

So much about Starbucks annoys me. But - and I know that coffee connoisseurs would be horrified by this - I like how their coffee tastes. This morning I decided to deviate from my normal path and go to a different Starbucks. I'm not going to tell you where it is, because I want to keep it all for myself. For my last six trips there at least, I've gotten the random receipt that gives you a free tall drink of your choice. Cha-ching! Today was no exception. Also, the barista thought I ordered an apple fritter (my favorite), and when I explained that I didn't and had already paid for my drink, he just gave it to me anyway. There were also quite a lot of suits traveling up and down the stairs to the lounge upstairs...the lady next to me joked "Who do you have up there, the president??" The barista smiled and said "No, just Eric Cantor. He's really nice though!" I don't know why the House Majority Leader wanted to have a meeting in that Starbucks, but D.C. is a funny place. Oh, and to top it all off, waiting for me just outside on the sidewalk was the most beautiful Bernese I have ever seen!

[Such a coffee lover must have started out just like this, many years ago]:

So "magic" is a little over-the-top, but if one place brings me that much happiness, I'm definitely a fan.
