new year! new changes!

Yeah...I don't know if that's a valid excuse. The truth is [as I so darkly hinted yesterday], I am simply an obsessive-compulsive furniture-arranger. I love moving things around and changing up the look of a room. I've liked to do this for my whole (cognizant) life....when I was about 7 I remember getting annoyed that I couldn't move the beds in my bedroom. [Clara and I had beds that were built into the walls and had pull out drawers underneath them. Looking back I realize that they were sweet, but at the time, it was very limiting.] When I got my own room a few years later, I was sort of annoyed to have a queen bed instead of a twin, because I could have had more room arrangements with a twin. [Again, not really able to appreciate a good thing...dorm beds will help you see the error of your ways.] And now, in my little studio apartment, I've already gone and made basically the only change I can, and will probably be going stir-crazy in a few months. But for now, I am oh-so-happy. Behold!

[Warning: this is not going to be as exciting for you as it is for me. But here's a reminder of how it used to be so that you can't say that it "looks the same".]

And the bookshelf gets a bit more glory here, which is appropriate [though I'm pretty sure that it'll take some adjustment to be sleeping so far away from my books...]

And I realize that this one is almost exactly the same as the first, but it is comforting for me, at least, to know that there is some floor space between the couch and the bed. And new blue pillows! And new painting!

Anyway, thank you to Alice for telling me to move the wall, and consequently making me so happy. Come to DC and I'll buy you a drink in return :).
