I hereby resolve...

Ha! Just kidding. I'm not serious about New Year's resolutions at all. But as everyone knows, I love lists. So here is my list, which I may adhere to for a week, a month, or actually a year...we'll see.

1. Cook more. I actually like it a lot now, and am starting to find it more relaxing than stressful. [The people who have been eating my food may be lying when they say it tastes good, but that's working like a charm!] It's hard to motivate myself to spend a lot of time in the kitchen after work, but this gem from my aunt for Christmas should help:

2. Get into new shape. I'm not saying get back into shape, because the shape I was in in college meant that I could probably lift Smart Cars with my quads. [Yeah, it was awesome]. This also doesn't even necessarily mean losing weight...I just might want to try running if my knees aren't permanently shot from said previous shape. Maybe.

3. Adventure on weekends. I live in DC, for crying out loud! Enough with the sitting around watching ungodly amounts of tv. I'm excited to see more of this awesome place. And I'm going to be bombarding this blog with pictures, so watch out.

4. Learn how to do a back walkover. Yup...pretty self explanatory. I've known how to do the components for years, I've just never taken a day to put it all together. Spring project...then I'll be doing them all summer!

5. Talk to my lovely friends and family more. They're awesome. I'm sometimes anti-social. I'd like to inch closer to the former.

6. AMDG. Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam is the Latin phrase used by the Jesuits which means "for the greater glory of God". I used to just want it tattooed on my foot [cuss...I still do], but I'm going to try to really consciously live with that as my goal. This one of course is the only resolution of importance, and I might need help keeping it. Please feel free to remind me.

What about you, friends? Thoughts, hopes, dreams, ambitions?*

*Any actual dream stories will be memorized and told as my own, since I don't ever dream [argh!] and am insanely jealous of people who do sweet things in theirs.

  1. I had a dream that I had a Whalen final and Jackson final at the same time, but didn't realize it until twenty minutes before they both started. I ended up missing both, through stress. I woke up so stressed that I made Eric give me a back massage. So it was happy enough in the end.

    Also, what's a back walkover?

  2. Ha...that dream made me stressed just thinking about it!

A back walkover is super easy...just doing a backbend and kicking your legs over so that you end standing up [it might actually be harder to explain than do!]. I'm pretty sure 8 year olds can do them, but I can't yet.

  3. COOK MORE. I'm trying to do that, too. Starting today with a four year old, several apples and a waffle iron. We will see what we shall see :)

Looking forward to your pictures! I LOVE DC. I want to see more of it!
