I wasn't going to post anything today, just because I like to pace myself sometimes. But sometimes you don't have much of a choice.
I've never been to the March for Life (I always had track meets, and now I have work...not fair.), but I was in the same city for the first time this year. It was really amazing to see the huge crowds of people - mostly young students - an age bracket that we've been told by the media are selfish, apathetic, and too open-minded to stand up for some archaic values. If you ever need your hope restored in America's youth, this was the place to look. These students were kind, friendly, eloquent, and incredibly brave. I want to walk with them next year.
Everyone I know has had a pretty heated discussion about abortion at some point in time. I remember getting into it when I was really young [too young to say anything other than what I had heard my mom say], with a classmate during art class. Over the years, my conviction hasn't subsided, but my reasoning has (thankfully) matured - as has my compassion for those on the other side. Now, the pro-life movement is one of the few things that I know I want to work for during my life. Different things motivate me at different times: sad stories, families fighting, pundits preaching - but the desire is always there. Lately, it's been seeing all of the beautiful babies who have been welcomed into the families of so many I know. They're each so sweet and tiny...and so loved.
That's why this fight isn't going away, but getting stronger every year. We aren't preaching hate or condemnation, but love - for the mother, the father, and the baby.
There are so many to love.
