recovery

Homecoming was glorious. I managed to do basically everything on my list below, with the added bonus of a lot of movie watching and Chinese food Saturday night, when I got sick from being in 30 degree weather for 8 hours. I guess I forgot how cold it would be in Michigan in November?

Anyway, I made record time driving home since I was determined to make it to DC before a fever kicked in. I listened to The Horse and His Boy and The Silver Chair on tape, which was the absolute best way to spend 8.5 hours. [The Chronicles of Narnia always make me think of Christmas...I don't know why, but I like it and that puts me in a great mood.] I made it before the sick really set in, and fortunately there was a guy in Old Town who ran out (unasked) to get me Nyquil. Score!

Last night Dr. Connor was in town, and he took us to The Fish Market...the walk down to the river was beautiful in the fall air, and I ate so many scallops I probably could have been rolled home. I love old friends coming to visit. And I love that at Hillsdale, old professors are old friends.

Now the sick has finally gotten me. This is what I don't look like today:

[alright, I'm officially growing my hair out again. hold me to this, bitte.]
