That's the half-wall that faces the foot of my bed. There's my trunk (that my mom bought to take with her to college, and then gave to me when I went), a mirror I found at the antique stores in Michigan, my rosary from Italy, a little sailboat from Clara from Greece, an angel that everyone in my family has, and an ink sketch of St. Peter's that I got in Rome. In short, when I finished fiddling with the placement of things on the wall, Alice's reaction was "Wow, that wall just got real Catholic real fast, didn't it?".
[Here's a close-up, for no particular reason:]
Today is Christ the King Sunday...better known in my mind at least as THE SUNDAY BEFORE ADVENT!!! Ach du lieber, I love Advent. It is absolutely my favorite time of year. And it is the time of year that I am most likely to be thankful for my family, my faith, and beautiful traditions. And it's almost here!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteSchwester,
ReplyDeleteThis just proves that we are in fact sisters-- sisterfriends, soul-sisters, daughters from the same mother ("womb" may also be used here, if one's in the proper mood/ pronunciation style). The early hours-- and late, starry ones as well-- have been some of my favorite parts of living at the Wedge. I find myself staring out the window and at the buildings across the street, or looking at the same old (still cool) things inside that I can appreciate in all the various lightings.
Other than that, fist pump to the catholic wall. And to the coming of Christmas... Hallelujah! :-)
