this looks familiar...

We're moving this weekend!  Will worked really hard looking for apartments during the real estate "off season", and we trudged all over after work most nights for several weeks looking at new places.  And I really love our new place.  Want to see?

No, I didn't post the wrong pictures.  It's identical to the old one.  Well, almost.  This one is exactly one floor above our current apartment, has all hardwood (instead of carpet in the bedroom and closet), gets a lot more sunlight, has brand new appliances, is slightly bigger, and we're allowed to get a puppy!  We'll see if the last one happens, but for now, it's a big win to be off the ground level, so that our neighbors aren't constantly (though maybe unintentionally) looking in our windows.  And we've signed an 18 month lease, which means that we have a lot of leeway in terms of new lighting fixtures, painting the walls, and putting up window treatments.  We basically get the endorphin rush of a new place, without the awkward living-out-of-boxes phase that I loathe so much.  Hooray!

And since decorating makes me so happy, I'm going to try to make this place look a little different than our first one.  So far, that's meant replacing the hideous snaky track lights, and picking out a light grey that suddenly looked very lavender once it was up in the living room.  You win some and you lose some, right?  We'll keep trying, and documenting, and once it's all done, everyone's invited to a party.  That's a promise.
