great greys

As I said, we're in the hunt for the perfect grey for our living room.  As someone who's generally pretty bold about colors and artistic vision (in small doses), I've had a serious confidence check.  Not only did I pick a color that looked unmistakably lavender once it was up on our walls, I totally struck out on our two follow-up paint swatches too.  I need to:

1. March to a new paint store tomorrow and beg for personal consultation and thousands of trial colors.
2. Check with someone else before I leave the house to make sure this color blindness doesn't result in an embarrassing outfit.

It seems so simple.  I just want a light grey that keeps our apartment feeling airy and looks crisp with our white trim.  And this quest is taking over my Pinterest boards:

Doesn't seem too hard, right?  Ah, but the last one's a leeeetle too dark, and the middle one has some pinkish undertones...but it's not too hard.  At least, that's what I'm going to keep telling myself until we get the dang thing right.

  3. I really do think that greys are the most difficult to get 'just right'. But when you do (get them right, that is) they're so very worth it!
