"Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?"

I don't. I mean, I kind of do, but I've never been there. But I love the idea of it. I imagine it like it maybe used to be...focusing more on the architecture and food and music than the mess that will probably be occurring tomorrow. But because I have this whole idea built up about it (and I love it so!), I'm sort of afraid to go in real life. I don't want to lose my pretty dream...I'd almost rather keep this bittersweet, homesick affection for a place I've never seen.

[Anyone who's actually been there probably thinks this is ridiculous, but I can't help it!]

Here are reasons that I love it:

The music (obviously):

The architecture:

The food! I might actually try to make some beignets this weekend:

Ok, I'm repeating myself, but come on...those balconies!

[Ach...I have to confess. The New Orleans quadrant has also always been my favorite part of both Disneyland and Disney World. The first time I saw the bead-bedecked balconies, ate a Monte Cristo sandwich, and was introduced the Pirates of the Caribbean, I fell in love. At least I know that that New Orleans will never disappoint me!]
