well at least we understand each other.

Setting:
Last night, sitting in the car as Will went in to pick up our delicious dinner from a fancy (but cheap with Living Social!) French restaurant. It happened to get dark just as he went inside, and all of a sudden right in front of me were beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom (should have been enough loveliness, right?) with twinkly lights on them. Will comes out and gets in the car.

Dialogue [or lack thereof]:
Will: Sorry about that taking awhile...the waiter was like 3,000 years old. Awesome, but really old.
me: [Silence. Staring straight ahead.]
Will: Doesn't it smell great?
me: [More awe-struck silence.]
Will: Hey what's up? [Sees the trees and understands.] Ohhhh. Is it a little too much?
me: [Nodding my head.]

At least he understands me.

[Now try to imagine these with twinkly lights on them. Isn't it just too much?! Ach du lieber.]
