Saturday wishlist 3.5.11

Inspired by Mary yesterday, I rolled out of bed this morning and immediately mixed up batter for apple bread. My apartment smells so good...perfect way to start the weekend! [Though my weekend sort of started yesterday with a sick day home from work, but that doesn't really count.]

I cannot wait until I can do this with my hair again:

I think I need a striped dress in my closet to be ready for spring/summer:

And I've been on a quest to find a ballet workout dvd...do any of you know of one? I had a fleeting brush with ballet when I was little, but dropped it after a few months for more gymnastics. Now I desperately want to try it again [such core-related things are good for my abused back...track was not kind to it], but don't have the time or money for an actual studio class. I'd basically just like to supplement my running/ellipticalling with a dvd of exercises...so if any of you know of some, please let me know!

Also, this was one of my favorite childhood books...if you haven't read it, you must. It would be ideal if you could read it to/with a little girl so that you have an excuse, but if not, read it anyway. Maybe just stick it in the middle of a GRE textbook or something? Alison and I came across the movie *cough*when we were in college*cough*, and it even has Emma!! She's just the best.

Happy weekending!

  1. "Excuse me, do you have the shoe books?"
"The shoe books... do you know the author?"
"No. It's just -- one of my girlfriends told me my daughter has to read the shoe books. So here I am."
    "It's Noel Streatfeild."
    "Excuse me?"
"Noel Streatfeild wrote Ballet Shoes, and Dancing Shoes, and Tennis Shoes, and Skating Shoes. I'd start with Ballet Shoes -- it's my favorite. Though Skating Shoes is perfectly lovely. But it's out of print."
"Oh. So... the author is --"
    "Noel Streatfeild."
"Stre -- how do you spell that?"
    "S. tre. at. fei. l. d."
    "Tha -- thank you."

Now I have to watch that movie. :)
