Veterans Day PDA

I always love seeing people's tributes to our veterans on this day. We owe so much to this brave group of men and women. But rather than try to explain what or why or how much we owe, which has been written much more eloquently elsewhere, I'm just collecting pictures.

Military homecomings are one of the most achingly joyous things, in my mind. Looking at these old photos shows you the exhilaration, and also the relief, that they've finally returned safely. It also drives home that they had no guarantee of such a return, and that they went to serve anyway. We see the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers....and the bravery and sacrifice of those who waited for them. It's clear that for them, the war wasn't over until their soldiers were back in their arms.

So today let's thank our veterans, the soldiers who are still serving, and the family and friends who are serving alongside them in their own way. God bless you, and God bless America.
