That's her normal, crooked smile (brought on by the fact that she was being allowed to play with Christmas decorations, and that she thinks we're playing peekaboo when the camera is in front of my face.)
This is the absolutely ridiculous, over-the-top cheesy smile that she's picked up in the last month. She looks like a cartoon bunny and I love it.
It's starting to hit me that our baby is almost one. I don't like it one bit in theory, but when I think about how much fun our days are with her and her emerging personality and tricks, I think it might not be so bad.
She loves cheese, spinach, and meatballs...but no matter how much she loves her food, she's always willing to share with Darcy if she asks. (Darcy usually obliges.) If she's playing with something that's off-limits and I tell her "no," she squawks and crawls as fast and far away from the object as possible, panting and looking back at me when she's reached a wall, while I try not to let her see me laugh. She has seven teeth, with three that came through in one week (I still haven't recovered). She energetically empties every drawer she can anytime I'm cooking in the kitchen. She gets offended when you try to make her walk. She wants to greet the Christmas tree when she wakes up and points while babbling seriously to convey that wish. After naps, if I bend down and look at her through the crib rails before picking her up, she reaches through and squishes my face and giggles sleepily.
Oh, and the sass is still there:
But there also seems to be more intentional sweetness. This morning, instead of her normal jumping-bean-on-Mom-and-Dad's-faces routine, she just wanted to cuddle with Will. I've never seen her stay still for so long without being entertained...but she didn't want anything besides some quiet time with her dad.
You're a gem, Mollie.

I just love her and you.
