snip snip

I can't be the only one who gets a ridiculous endorphin rush after getting my hair done. What can I say? I'm kind of an addict for that buzz. But since I'm obviously not indulging in constant cuts (I'd have a pixie by this time), I instead talk and think about my next appointment ad nauseam. Poor Will's heard the cycle countless times by now:

"Hey, it's been about three months since my last trim. I should probably schedule another one."

"I have a haircut in two weeks! I better hit Pinterest for inspiration."

[Then it gets sort of existential.]

"I hadn't noticed it, but my current hair makes me feel _____. I think a new haircut would make me feel much more ______!"

[Then it gets desperate.]

"Ahhhhh I can't wait another day now that I've identified the problem and solution! I need it cut NOW."

Then I go to my original appointment (somehow having managed to wait), and come out an hour later feeling fantastic. I bounce around the rest of the day and life is good.

Needless to say, I have an appointment scheduled in two weeks. I looked in the mirror the other day and suddenly decided that the whole long beachy waves look seemed like 8 years out of date. Anyone else? Long hair was in for forever, but I think it's maybe run its course...and more to the point, I'm (at least temporarily) over it.

If you couldn't tell from the pictures, I'm thinking a lob is the way to go! And if I hate it, I only have to wait about three more months for another pass at validation-by-haircut :).
