Objects in mirror are (much) bigger than they appear.
29 weeks! That's almost 30! 28 weeks has been a milestone goal for us for a long time (the baby's lungs are stronger by then and the doctors consequentially breathe easier as well), but last week sort of rushed by. We had a lot of doctor appointments and a couple of new sensations that kept us on our toes, but all results were golden. And I only got chastised by the doctor a tiny bit......I'm ashamed to say that I basically hit my first rebellious phase of bed rest, and had to be talked out of it. Now we know that at this point I need to not only be laying down, but also to be verrrrrry calm, which is sometimes tricky when I have visitors. But man, people are so exciting!
I think Darcy's insulted by the implication that she's not equally thrilling.
Other random developments: my belly button is slowly popping out (something I have always been viscerally opposed to, but is mercifully less weird when it actually happens to you. Clara, I'm sorry for anything I said about yours when you were pregnant). Darcy's current favorite place to sleep is curled up against the belly, despite the baby kicking her...fingers crossed she stays this lovey toward her when the baby is here. And it took looking at the calendar on November 1st to get me to stop dragging my feet and finally start purchasing things for the nursery. After my springing into action, the baby will now be able to sleep in a drawer of a yet-to-be-assembled dresser if she comes early. [It'd probably be good if I could find a way to make sure the momentum keeps going.]
This morning I tried to tell Will that I had immediately adjusted to daylight savings time. He very nicely patted me and pointed out that I'd normally be incoherent at that time. Best of luck to all of us.

29 weeks - so wonderful! I love the image of Darcy snuggled up against your belly. Just too cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd it feels best for me to have something against my belly too, so we're both happy! :)
DeleteI couldn't believe how my belly button popped out! I called it my belly's party hat. If it makes you feel better, it does sink back in... :) YAY LOU!!
ReplyDeleteHaha it's the WEIRDEST. I'll be happy to have my old one back :)
Deleteglad you and the baby are doing well!!
ReplyDeleteI was THIS CLOSE to taping my belly button down. it was enormously popped, and so obvious and awkward.
