heart day

As I've said, I don't need much encouragement in the love department, but when a whole day is devoted to it, I take advantage of it.  No complaining about the commercialization and disgraceful ploys of Hallmark or Hershey here.  [First of all, why would I ever blaspheme chocolate?!]  But seriously, this is one day when I can get away with being even more lovey than usual.  And what better [i.e. cheesier] way to start such a day than lipstick messages?

Plus it's really really fun to write on a mirror in lipstick.  It feels cinematic.

Will sent me a beautiful bouquet of orchids at work...they really are beautiful, despite the wonky angle of the picture below.  And it was maybe even more romantic than roses, since orchids used to be the main ingredient in love potions...clever guy:

There was also a delicious dinner and several other fun gifts, but I don't really want to leave my valentine and stare at my computer for long enough to write about them.  I'll save those recipes and presents for later...hope you all had a wonderful day!
