I was nervous before you came. I loved you as soon as we knew of you, but I truly didn't know how I could love someone as much as your sister, and I felt guilty about that. Everyone said that my capacity to love would just double, but I couldn't imagine it.

But I should have known better.

The second I heard your cry my heart swelled and the tears started. I kept saying "She sounds so different from Mollie!" It sounds silly, but hearing your voice was all it took for me to realize completely and all at once that I could (and would and did) love you just as much as your sister, because you were your own beautiful person and we could love you in your own way. We delight in your similarities, and your differences, but most of all that God has entrusted us with another lovely soul to raise. We're so smitten with you, Livie-girl. We're so glad you're here.
