The company he found was great - our pilot was a really cool lady in her mid-30s who besides flying for 14 years also competitively mountain bikes and wants to live in a tepee. I was a pretty huge fan. The weather was perfect...much cooler at dawn than the normal 90-100 degrees of the heat of the day! And that was good, since these things put off some serious heat:
They look like big microphones, but were much more useful in keeping us airborne.
We were shocked by how huge it was! I know, I know...we normally see them from pretty far away. But seriously, these balloons are BIG.
Ours also happened to be maize and blue and made in Ann Arbor, MI. No complaints here!
Breathtaking sunrise...it was so unbelievably peaceful
Our neighbors for the morning
Train going through the mountains
I loved this gorgeous farm...and the cows liked us and chased our balloon across the field!
Neighbor's shadow and our shadow
The farm where we landed
Perfect morning
It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Hot air balloons always look so sedate in the air - I had no idea that they're actually very nimble as well! Our pilot would take us down low so we could pick leaves from the tree tops, then zoom back up several hundred feet a minute later. It was so fun! Thanks, love, for a beautiful morning.
