instead of going to IKEA for the 10th time...

...I gave Will a couple of things to look for (he had to go anyway), and I decided to take a second and be happy with how it's looking so far. Obviously there's a long way to go, but I didn't even take pictures of the half of the room that's completely unfinished, except for a lovely grey on the walls and an unused box spring leaning artfully against the wall (anyone interested in a box spring? anyone??). Ironically, when I sit on my finished side of the room I'm forced to look at the unfinished side...I'm motivated simply by the promise of looking at something more attractive.

[Such is the life of someone without TV...and still no internet. Though I'm working out for the first time since track because I can elliptical for an hour in the basement of my apartment and watch Grey's...ahhh so shameless.]

Other notables:
- My office hired a new assistant director and he's very French Canadian. I'm the only one who gets his jokes, and I don't know what that means, but I think it has to do with Alice's and my very "authentic" French accents.
- The man behind me at Buzz can't stop talking authoritatively about how he really just thinks Donald Trump has pretty tacky taste, don't you think?
- Will promises that I'll have internet by tomorrow. Since my way of making that happen consists of whining at my computer and turning it on and off lethargically, I'd say he's a better expert on the subject than I am. But we shall see.

  1. LOVE it. Also, we have the same dishrack. I was recently legitimized in my existence when I realized that I - we - share the dishrack with none other than Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) in You've Got Mail. You get just a tiny glimpse of it in the scene when Joe brings Kathleen daises while she's sick and asks where he can find a vase "A vase? a vase?" "Oh, above the refrigerator."

And I couldn't notice anything but the unfinished part of our apartment, either. In fact, I've taken photos of our place but can't bring myself to post them anywhere because "we're not done yet." By which I mean purchasing new furniture once we've made money. At this rate, we'll publish photos of our place about two weeks before Eric's done with his dissertation.
