quick hits

Making: a memory a minute. I mean, look at that epitome of gemütlichkeit up there.
Drinking: tea.
Reading: baby books. Everyone said I'd forget things as soon as she got here, and they were right, which doesn't seem fair.
Wanting: more time with my mom here. We were gloriously spoiled.
Looking: at Mollie changing before my eyes. It seems like she changes during every nap!
Playing: with my new (quite-needed) laptop and feeling fahncy.
Wasting: probably water and energy with all of the loads of laundry we're doing - c'est la vie.
Enjoying: the feeling of a sleeping baby on my chest. Nothing better.
Waiting: for her smiles to mean something...though I'm already loving them, involuntary as they are.
Liking: our new rocking chair, which was eventually a success!
Wondering: when you start to not be scared that you're going to spectacularly mess up as a parent.
Loving: being able to stand up again! Specifically, being able to stand up to fold bed sheets. That is a pain to attempt laying down.
Marveling: at the support of friends and the power of prayer.
Needing: slightly more sleep? Just a little?
Smelling: chocolate chip cookies.
Wearing: my skinny maternity jeans...still. I'm going to have to give them up eventually, but to anyone who has to have a c-section, these are perfect for avoiding the incision. They should market them for that.
Thinking: that I have no idea what's been happening in the news for the last two weeks - I should maybe rejoin the world a bit.
Bookmarking: anything longer than one-page in length. I'll get around to it when I have a longer attention span.
Opening: the fridge a million times a day. I'm so, so much hungrier than when I was pregnant.
Feeling: blessed.

  1. , The answer is never. You never quit wondering when you'll mess things up as a parent. It's only by God's grace that we (kids and parents) make it at all. Congratulations! So, so, so happy for you!
