if you're on Pinterest, this won't come as a surprise.

Friends, Romans, countrymen. I need this rug:

Or this one (I'm not picky):

But mostly the first one. Where oh where do you guys find rugs that don't cost more than mahogany floors? I had found one, but it makes me nervous to buy things like this online without seeing it in person first. Then once I got the courage it was out of stock (of course).

And I know that it would be best to stumble across one in an over-looked, under-priced antique store, but that's just not happening. I live near DC (which is bad), and in Old Town Alexandria (which is worse, in this case). There is no such thing as hidden, cheap treasures. So any stories about how you found one that's even more beautiful in the antique store in your hometown will just make me cry (which is the opposite of helpful, just to be clear). I really need to find one in a chain store or something - I'm not proud!

Help? Please?

  1. Ok, so I too have been having Oriental rug lust. Though it is not the same thing, Ikea has some similar ones for much cheaper.... check them out!

And WHY ARE RUGS SO EXPENSIVE???? Story of my life.

The first two are more "mature" styled more expensive rugs but Urban Outfitter and Ikea have great options for the cheaper more hip crowd :) I got an AWESOME rug for my kitchen at IKEA and it was like $20. It was a steal, and it's pretty big.

  3. Gah I wanted IKEA to work, but they only have the old-fashioned color schemes for their oriental rugs :P. I would, however, like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60222932/

And Urban Outfitters was closer, but they don't have any runners and I need it for a hallway! #firstworldproblems
